It is hard to get really excited when I take a stroll along the perfume aisles of mainstream perfume shops but I am not a snob about designer scents. Among the myriad of unimaginative clones and functional aromas, there are interesting releases. Most of the John Varvatos perfumes try to maintain their distance from what is currently expected from a masculine scent and defend the house aesthetics of hipster chic. Platinum Edition and Dark Rebel are both interesting and bear the eclectic signature of Rodrigo Flores-Roux.
