Does anybody read the labels? I don’t. Especially the labels on perfume boxes. Well this is what I found on my Le Labo Oud 27 box label:
“CAUTION: Inflamable until dry. Do not use near fire, flame or heat. Avoid spraying in the eyes even though love is blind. Should you insist in doing so, you should be seeing a shrink.”
You got to hand it to the people at Le Labo. They have a great sense of humour and they don’t like to shout about it!

Haha! That’s genius! I love little, quirky things like that! It reminds me of a company over here called Innocent Smoothies, they have all sorts of odd, funny things written on their packaging.
I’ll be checking my Rose 31 box now.
I love the fact that they put it somewhere probably no one would see it! Genius!
Love it! 🙂 Thank you for sharing.
Is this your new bottle?
No. In fact this is my first Le Labo bottle. I just keep all the boxes. I use this for my stash of blotters.
I love these kind of touches. When brands and businesses just do that little subtle bit that raises the bar
I’d love to write a comment to your post, but I need to run home and read my Lelabo label !
Please do let us know. It would be good to know if this humourous touch was added at some point or has always been there.
Oh yes, I have the shrink text as well ! Plus “eviter de vaporiser vers les yeux (surtout d’un agent de police)”…
🙂
Yes. lady jane grey, I have that one too! I guess this discovery puts the whole expiry date into a new perspective!
I was seriously thinking of writing an article about the funny things you read in cosmetic labels, such as shampoos, conditioner, gels etc… they really are a lesson of stupidity…but I dropped the issue because it was not really fragrance related…but thanks to you we have this article!
No, in fact I don’t think the text from LeLabo is stupid – quite the opposite : i found it refreshingly tongue-in-cheek.
I didn’t mean that Le Labo is stupid… I meant that shampoos and cosmetic labels are stupid and that I thought of writing about it. But since my blog is about fragrances, I could not find the connection to them. And than here it is – Le labo’s labels – which I think it is rather funny, not stupid – but not smart too. Just funny. I could have written the article and mention what perfume labels are about and bring this humorous side of this company…that is all there is to it Lady Jane 🙂
I think the text itself is just funny. The fact that they wrote it in small prints and in a place where probably no one would read it is very clever. And subtle.
Frankly, there is nothing subtle about Eddie! LOL
Judging by the packaging he must certainly have a subtle marketing taste 🙂
